Naruto Six Paths necklace IV

The latest design draft from a late-night beading binge, based on the "4ish" start in my scrapbook section.

This time, I ditched the figure-8 double loops for a modified single-loop harness-- there's now a small interwoven area at the top of each loop that keeps the magatama from rotating the other way. So now they're all pointing sideways in the same relative direction, but it's a rather different look than the former semi-integration into the main carrying strand, if that makes any sense.

(I'm not sure whether it works in this context, but as a general concept, I rather like the spiderwebby curved starpoint shape of the overall piece-- I'll have to try that again with different beads.)

The second magatama from the right is skewed forward because the necklace isn't completely finished and tied off yet, so the tension is a bit floppy. It's draped a bit shorter than its projected final length of ~30", though again the "neck" scaffold only has a 3" diameter so the apparent proportions may be misleading. When I correctly test-drape it on myself, the bottom pair of magatama hang at about heart level.

Six red jasper magatama and lots of little glass beads on a double strand of 20lb-test gel-spun polymer. Again.
