spiky kusudama cube

Just this cube, you know?

Each face is made from two nested 3" squares of paper; when folded, each face ends up as a ~1.5" square of variously projecting spikes. The outer colors of all six are visible from this angle, some more than others.

The edge hinges were blintzed from 1.5" squares. It holds together on its own without glue, at least so far... I've been managing to keep the Amazing Destructo-Cats from enlisting it for tag-team staircase slalom, but eventually they're going to get around me.

Ended up with this design more or less by accident, after idly messing around with various sheets of paper and trying to figure out what to do with them next. Since I finally found my copy of Tomoko Fuse's kududama book again, I might actually attempt to follow some directions next time :b
